Wal Mart Stores learned this a long time ago by placing a greeter at the front door. Nice hotels place the bell hops at the front door to offer assistance and make you feel important. When people enter the doors of our churches, we want them to feel like they have just come back home from a long journey. Just getting to the door and walking through it is difficult for a first-time guest. Their first impression is everlasting. They will assess in the first five minutes if they will ever want to return. If we can convey the Lord’s love to someone in their first visit, they are more likely to come back. 1 Peter 4:8-10 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Here are some steps to initiate a greeting ministry at your local church:
